Are Castrads cast iron radiators made in the UK?

The manufacture of cast iron radiators, which requires a very large blast furnace, ceased in the UK in the 1970’s. Anyone claiming “British manufacture” today should not be believed. Castrads imports cast iron radiator sections and then assembles, finishes and tests its radiators in the UK. Unlike most companies, Castrads imports its cast iron radiators direct and carries 300 tons of stock. Most other companies are resellers and carry no stock. So when you buy from Castrads, you can rest assured that your radiator has been imported by us, finished on our site and shipped directly to you, so you get the best deal.

How do I order my cast iron radiator?

To order your cast iron radiator, first choose the style from the range above. Click on any style to see a bigger image. The radiator size will depend on the heat output needed. Your plumber may have given you a figure. If not use Castrads’ heat calculator to work it out from the room dimensions. Once you have the output, use Castrads’ Radiator Builder to work out the price.

A cast iron radiator can be thought of as a piece of furniture, so if you feel the calculated radiator size is too small and a longer radiator would be more attractive, you can simply add a few sections. You can always turn a radiator down using the valve. All of Castrads’ cast iron radiators come in Pewter at no extra charge. A full range of other colours is available here. Castrads holds a limited range of paint colours in stock, but if we don't have the colour you require we can always match paint from the standard RAL or F&B colour systems. Once you’ve chosen the radiator, you’ll need a pair of valves and wall stays.

How long will it take for my radiator to arrive?

Lead time is currently 7 days. If you can’t wait, choose from our ready-made selection on Castrads’ Rads2Go. Orders from Rads2Go are usually dispatched on Tuesdays and Thursdays for next-day delivery
